Is there any suitable way of forcing a gen-brownian-noise (and all related items/curves) to have a certain amount of items, but still keep its general shape?

Basically with vector-map I'm able to map the height of the curve into any range I want. Now, how do I do that for the width?

That meaning, I have a fine-resolution curve with 500 points and now I want a low-res one with 5, 10 or 15 points, that keeps the beginning, the end, and the general contour?...

Try vector-quantize.
