Hi all,

I tried to run simple 64 bit VST plug-in with custom GUI and found that Symbiosis contains dummy stub for SymbiosisViewEntry. Could anybody advice, is there any way to use custom GUI in 64bit version of plug-in?

Hello Ruslan,

I use Symbiosis 32/64bit with custom GUI. First I used just 32bit only but I don't remember I do anything special to make it works in 64bit. I remember I just compile it. Have you tried 32bit and is it working?

Best,

Shouldn't be a problem if you use the latest version of Symbiosis. 64-bit AUs don't use SymbiosisViewEntry to create the GUI view. The stub is there so that the compiler doesn't complain about a missing export symbol.

Cheers,
Magnus

Many thanks for your responses, I played with compiling options and it passed auval tests.
I also found that if I want to use custom GUI I should define CUSTOM_GUI 1 in 32bit version, and left as is in 64bit one. Is it possible to compile bundle with different resources for 32bit and 64bit versions?

Thanks

This shouldn't be necessary. 64-bit hosts should disregard the definitions for the 32-bit view functions. Having CUSTOM_GUI set to 1 for both 32 and 64-bit targets has never been a problem for me. What happens for you?
