Symantec Antivirus Corporate - Updates When Logged Off?

We run Symantec Antivirus Corporate (v10.1.9.9000), Server on our
"Win2003 STD Server" Fileserver and Managed Clients on our Desktops.

This may sound like a dumb question, but does SAV Updates work if we
log off our Fileserver?

If Updates do NOT work when logged off, is there a way (like using Win
Scheduler)? Details please.
