Controller does not stop during shutdown

Configuration Information:
Operating system: Windows NT 4.0

Dear Techincal Supporter,

I have installed WINFAX PRO 8.0 on a Windows NT SERVER 4.0
SP3.

When I shut down the system the controller keeps running until I
manually end the task.

I have tried to modify the time Windows waits before prompting to
stop the task (from 20000 to 40000), like you
suggested in other messages, but that did not work.

Have you found a solution?

Try the fix recommended in "Controller Hang-up: Possible Solution"

Unfortunately it requires a rather big download, at least until we
convince Symantec that we (the users of WF8) deserve the 3 critical
files as a hotfix.

Giacomo,

This issue has been turned over to our QA department and Development. There
are currently no other solutions for this issue as yet other than what I
have recommended, which has worked for some users. As a work around you can
close the Controller before shutting down. I would also recommend that you
subscribe to the WinFax Bulletin at
http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/bulletin/index.html . The bulletin would
will keep informed of any fixes or updates to WinFax PRO.
