Configuration Information:
Version: pcANYWHERE32 8.0
Operating system: Windows NT 4.0 SP3

Product: PCAnywhere32 8.0
OS: Windows NT Server 4.0 sp3

Description:

PCAnywhere had been running fine for a couple of months on the
server.
On one day, for some unknown reason, the service won't start.
"%1 Not a valid Windows NT Application" message poped up everytime
when I tried to run PCAnywhere locally (PCAnywhere -> Be a Host PC ->
Network), or when I tried to start the PCAnywhere Host service
locally on server.

Resolution which wouldn't work:

1. Uninstall PCAnywhere using the remove PCAnywhere program.
2. Reboot in VGA mode.
3. Install PCAnywhere 8.0 to directory \PCAW32
4. Reboot in VGA mode

Same problem happened when I tried to run PCAnywhere.
Then I did the followings:

5. Install patch file 802up_a.exe

During patch installation, I got a serve error "PCAnywhere32 8.02
will not run as Anywhere.Bin has not been updated"
Then I rebooted the server again, and still it wouldn't work.

Please help if anyone know how to deal with this problem.
As far as I know, PCAnywhere modiflies a few Registry entries during
installion, and it WILL NOT restore them back to the original value
even if we run the PCAnywhere uninstall program.

Again, if anyone has any clue, please help and I really appreceiate
it.
