I've already installed pcANYWHERE and configured my TCP/IP settings.
When I try to double click on the Icon for the connection I keep
getting an error message saying "Cannot Launch C:Program
files/pcANYWHERE/awrem32.exe". Please Help me

By default, pcANYWHERE installs in the C:\Program Files\pcANYWHERE folder.
However, Windows NT truncates the long file name "Program Files" to an 8.3
filename when it searches for a program to execute. If there is a folder
named "Program" at the root of the drive, Windows looks in that folder,
instead of the Program Files folder, and of course cannot find it.
The error message you see depends on the situation. Error messages include:
• "Could not start the requested service."
This occurs when attempting to launch a host from within the pcANYWHERE
main module.
• "Unable to start the pcANYWHERE Host service."
This occurs when launching a host item on the desktop.
• "Could not start the pcANYWHERE Host Service on \\(computer name). Error
0005: Access is denied."
This occurs when attempting to start the pcANYWHERE service from the
Services module in Control Panel.
• "Could not launch C:\Program Files\pcANYWHERE\awrem32.exe"
This occurs when attempting to launch a remote item from within the main
pcANYWHERE module.
To correct this situation, uninstall pcANYWHERE and reinstall it to folder
with a short file name. Try reinstalling to the root directory, ie.,
C:\PCA32. You can also rename the Program folder, but this could have
unwanted consequences for any applications you have installed to that
folder.
Good luck and let me know if I can be of further assistance.
