Configuration Information:
Version: pcANYWHERE32 8.0
Operating system: Windows NT 4.0 SP3

I have PCAnywhere32 version 8.0 installed on a Compaq 5100
Professional Workstation that has an Elsa Gloria Synergy video card.
I am having problems with two things regarding this install.

1) I get a device conflict error when I try opening the ELSA settings
tab from the Display Properties from the control panel. The conflict
is between the ELSA library and a library called awvideo.dll. This
awvideo file is related to PCAnywhere32. What do I need to do?

2) Now that PCAnywhere is installed (which does work) I have a slight
video problem. Whenever I create a new file or directory using the
right mouse button and selecting, for example, "New Folder" it then
creates the folder and allows me the chance to rename it. The
problem lies here. When I try renaming the file the text label is
invisible until I hit "Return". This same thing happens if I try to
rename a file or directory. Anytime I try editing the text label for
the file or directory the information disappears. The changes take
affect and I see them, but only when I modify or create new do I have
the problem.

I tried unintalling PCA and that solved problem 1 (the device
conflict), but I still have problem 2.

Any help you can be is greatly appreciated.

The latest update for pcANYWHERE32 version 8.0 addresses video issues.
Apply the update and see if it corrects this problem. To determine if the
latest update for pcANYWHERE32 version 8.0 has been applied, start
pcANYWHERE32 then select Help / About pcANYWHERE and verify the version
number. If the version is not 8.02, build 220, then run LiveUpdate.

To run the LiveUpdate within pcANYWHERE, select Utilities / LiveUpdate.
This procedure will run automatically and update the current version to
8.02.

If you are unable to run LiveUpdate, download 802up_a.exe (4.8 megs) from
the following URL:

http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/files/pca/pcanywhere32_for_windows95nt.html

The following Periodic Update file from our Knowledge Base describes the
fixes with 8.02:

Document Title: pcANYWHERE32 8.0 Periodic Update File

Good luck and please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
