Hanging on SplashScreen

I have been using pcAnywhere32 Ver 8.0 on Windows NT 4.0 sucessfully for
some time now.
Now when the program is executed it hangs on startup showing the Splash
Screen and the
dialog box in the background.
It will operate OK if I double click on the .chf file in the data directory.
The hardware is a COMPAQ Notebook "Armada" Model 7730.
Any help would be appreciated.
