After applying 8.02, it should not be necessary to reboot the gateway
computer. Since this is occurring, check with your modem manufacturer and
confirm that the latest .INF file they have has been applied to the system.
If the issue continues, remove and reinstall the modem TAPI driver and see
if this helps out. Also, confirm that another program is not using the
modem on the system.

Good luck and please let me know if the issue continues.

Thanks for the suggestions, Roy. However none of them seemed to
help.

I do beleive that I've figured out what's been happening. If I
follow the steps listed below, I can duplicate my problem every time.

1. Call gateway
2. Select desired host from available host list once connected to
gateway
3. enter name and password
4. disconnect from host by clicking on X (close window button in
upper left hand corner of window)
5. nswer yes to end session
6. at this point a black window appears. if I ignore this window and
wait until the list of available hosts reappears I can press the
cancel button and end my pcAnywhere session. if I close the black
window, i get another end session message. answering yes to the end
session message disconnects me from the gateway but also terminates
the gateway program on my server. Once this happens I must reboot
the computer running the gateway program before I can reload the
gateway.

Is there any way that you could prevent this? In the mean time I'll
try to teach out customers not to close this black window.
