When I do a LiveUpdate, I get the following two messages

Common Client Update:
The update was not completed.
The update process was unable to complete successfully.
Please click the 'Details' button for more information.

--> 'Details':
Windows XP 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2
Common Client Core 104.0.1

Norton AntiVirus 2006 Update:
The update was not completed.
The update process was unable to complete successfully.
Please click the 'Details' button for more information.

--> 'Details':
Windows XP 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2
NAVNT 2006 12.0.0.94

At the end, I am told LiveUpdate is not able to install some of the
updates that I have selected. Under Norton AntiVirus\Program Update &
Symantec Security Software Update\Symantec Common Client, I read the
folowing:

LU1812: A program that was part of this update failed when it ran.
This update was not applied. Click here for more information on this
error

I have tried the following, all to no avail
* clearing the temp folders C:\Documents and Settings\xxxx\Local
Settings\Temp\ & C:\Windows\Temp\
* uninstalling, running SymNRT.exe & re-installing Norton SystemWorks
2006
* updating the items one at a temp
* tweaking a registry entry (suggested by someone at a forum)

Does anyone have any ideas on this. It's not a critical problem but
it's a pain in you-know-where!
Thanks.

Yes, I had tried this, as well as reinstalling NSW and LiveUpdate
(downloaded from Symantec's site, v3.0.0.150)

Nothing works.
