Configuration Information:
Operating system: Windows NT 4.0
------------------------------------------------------------

I am writing a control in VB(5) that can read common data from an ACT
and an Access database, and write back any changes, such as
additions, deletions, etc.
I can read and write to dbase IV (*.dbf) files, as well as add new
records, (using the xbase and dbase odbc drivers). I have set the
read only option to false when opening the act *.dbf file in VB, but
can only read and edit fields.
I cannot add new records to act!

I am asking it there is an ACT! ODBC driver or somekind of sdk tool
that will help with using act.

Thanks

You can only read the ACT! DFB files (contact info only) via ODBC using the
FoxPro 2.5 driver.

If you need read/write access, you need to use the OLE2 interface as per the
SDK (www.Symantec.com/act/sdk).

You might find it useful to contact an ACC (ACT! Certified Consultant) for
more help with this.

The most recent version of the Act! Certified Consultant list is at the
following URL:

http://www.symantec.com/specprog/acc/acclist.html

Let us know if there are any other questions we can help with.
