Hi Bruce,
I apologize for the delay, it was necessary to try and dig into other
sources to find the specific error, unfortunately it did not turn up.
I can find no specific tie to the error message location in our
knowledge base. I have some questions for clarification and some tests
to further trouble shoot the situation.
1. Is ACT! 4.0 installed over ACT! 3.0? If so backup all your data;
databases documents reports etc. Uninstall ACT!. Delete the ACT
folder.
2. Check the system for *.TMP files and delete. Delete any folders
which start with tilde like ~SIWxx.
3. Check the Paging File Size and make sure it is set to at least
150mbs or 25% of free disk space which ever is larger.
4. Check the config.sys file for a files= line if the number is less
than 100 change to 100.
5. Reinstall ACT! 4.0 from the CD, make sure you have administrative
rights when installing to ensure the registry files are updated
correctly.
When you say ACT! blows away 123 what do you mean?
How much RAM and free space are available on your machine?
We appreciate your use of Online Services.
