Help! I deleted stuff to the recycle bin but its no where to be found!

ok, so I really have workstation 4.0. I couldn't find any other news
groups so here I am.
anyway, I have my recycler configured to not accept any trash on the
C:\recycle bin and allotted 1 gbyte of space for trash on my D:\recycle
bin. Where my recycler configuration says " dont put files in the
recycler just delete" or some such thing, that is not selected. as far
as I can see it is configured properly but doesn't work. where are my
files if not in the trash?
AND why doesn't my WinNT resource manual speak of this?

my trash is empty. can anyone help me?
