I have Norton Your Eyes Only v. 4.1 installed on my laptop, but had
not installed Bootlock. I decided to install bootlock and went
through a second installation from the diskettes which updated my
current installation and installed Bootlock. When the computer
restarted, I got the following message:
"Compatability mode paging reduces overall system performance.
C54232C in config.sys forces MS-DOS Compatability Mode."
This message was shown in the Performance tab of the System
Properties dialog. My question: Since this message appeared just
after installing Bootlock and nothing else was changed on the
computer, was the installation of Bootlock, therefore, the cause of
forcing MS-DOS compatability mode, reducing performance of my laptop?
If so, which seems likely, is there anything I can do to correct this
problem?

Hello David,

Thank you for posting in our on-line discussion group.

I wanted to apologize for the length it took to respond to your
message. Please take my sincere apology and I hope you continue to
post to our newsgroup in the future.

This sounds like a MS-DOS CD driver. I would recommend to comment out
the line and not use it. Windows will handle all hardware for you
automatically.

I listed below links to documents in our online knowledge base that
may help you resolve the issue.
