Check the modem settings for ECM 2Dcompression and Flow control (switch from hardware to software or the opposite)

USR modems (unable to send or receive)
1) rename WFX0001.dat to WFX0001.OLD<in Winfax\DATA (this one only applies to older versions of 8.0)
2) <shift>+<properties> to reconfigure the modem
Setup Menu - Modem - Highlight modem and Hold shift Key down and click on Properties
Click Yes and follow Wizard
3) Change INIT to ONLY AT&F1
In the FAX TAB change the Initialization string to above
4) Change FLOW to ONLY AT&H1
Change the Flow control to above
5) Remove CHECK for ECM <in the FAX TAB>
6) Remove CHECK for 2D <in the FAX TAB>
7) Set Maximum Transmit Speed to 9600 <in the FAX TAB>
In the General TAB
8) Check the Initialization speed to make sure it is 2400
Add this to the "2" box in the Initialization section ATS36=8
