Hello Pat,

You may wish to try the following suggestions:

Start Windows Explorer.
Locate and highlight your \PROGRAM FILES\SYMANTEC\WINFAX\DATA\PAGER folder.
Choose Delete from the File menu. Click Yes if prompted for confirmation.
Reinstall WinFax PRO.
Reconfigure your pager notification settings.

I have been using Winfax Pro, v8.0 on my old computer without
failure. When I set it up, the wizard detected a compatible modem
and sound card. I then installed the program on my new computer and
I have gotten the answering service and telephone service working
fine. However, I can not get the jpager notification to work.
The new modem is a US Robatics w. voice running at 56.
when I was installing the software, a message came up the the
software did not recognize(?) the modem and sound card. When I
attempted to select "generic", the software gave me a message about
using a more powerful version. Anyhow, I would appreciate some
advice on how to get the paging service working on my new computer.
The wizard fails to automatically configure the pager notification
and the tests always yields a "general communcations error" Thanks
