My Symantec WinFax Pro 8.0 manual advised me a list
of modems supported by TalkWorks could be found here on Symantec's
Web Site.
My Internal Supra 336i ASVD is entered on my WUINFAX
Modem list.Please tell me:
1. Is this model supported by WINFAXPRO 8.0 and its Talk
Works.
2. How do I add the modem in my FaxMachine
[which is connected to the parallel port of my
computer by a bi-directional cable]
to the list of modems in WINFAX and select the one I
want to use [not at the same time because I have only one
phone line]
The problem: I cannot find the name of my Fax
machine's modem in the list of modems. the MUltifunction fax
machine is connected to the parallel port.

please advise.
I guess I look in this newsgroup for an answer. Will it be
operational soon?

1. i am sending this message as thanks for your courtesy in
replying. however, symantec's manual said you had a list of voice
modems supported by winfaxpro 8 and talk works. may i please have
such a list?
2. it is strange that you say that my Supra 336i ASVD modem
is not supported by win fax because I have sent faxes with it.
3. My multifunction machine is attached by bi-directional
cable to my computer's parallel port. Through it I can print files
from my computer. And also use the modem in my multifunction machine
to send and receive faxes because of that bi-directional cable. Any
experienced technician should have easily seen that I as a user
wanted to know how to select one modem at a time and use it.
4. As a Symantec user I need to be able to ask a question by
fax, outline my question clearly, and get a reply by fax or phone.
This is an essential service. especially if I cannot rely opn your
web site to be going.

Sure, sorry it wasn't in my previous post.

WinFax 8.0
ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/products/winfax_pro/ver8/updates/wfx8list.exe

This link will download the WinFax PRO 8.0 Modem List file
(WFX8LIST.EXE) to your computer. After you have downloaded the file,
double click it to create an HTML which you can view in your web
browser.

TalkWorks 8.0
http://service.symantec.com/twk8list.html

The lists are different for both Winfax and Talkworks.
A modem that works with Talkworks will work with Winfax, but one that
is supported by Winfax may not be supported by Talkworks.

You will see on the list. Modems suported by Winfax are not supported
by Talkworks, necessarily.

Is this a sarcastic note on my ability to read your mind? FYI, I have
over 20 years experience in the computing environment.
