The modem is not in the compatible list but is set up as a 288K SVD which is
100% compatible as per the setup dialog.
Previously all worked 100%, voice and fax. Then the computer was moved to a
new location and new phone line.
When the phone is answered, the message gets played for a few seconds and
then the phone is hung up. The message is not played completely.
All other phones can be disconnected but it makes no difference.
The PC has just had the software reloaded (full install after reformatting
the hard disc).
Winfax was installed and the 8.02 patch run.
This did not make any difference at all but is fixed up the problem with the
controller not shutting down when you power off.
Setting the sensitivity to 0 made no difference either.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Martin:
Some modems send a message to TalkWorks indicating that the handset
has been picked up even when it has not. When it receives this
message, TalkWorks hangs up prematurely.
To resolve this problem, TalkWorks must stop looking for the
"handsetup" signal. To do this, edit the TalkWorks script files
(called .VMU files) and look for all instances of the following line:
handsetup = GOODBYE_BODY
Place a semicolon (;) at the beginning of each of these lines.
NOTE:
We recommend making a backup copy of all .VMU files before you edit
them.
All .VMU files are located in the DATA directory (which is located
under the WINFAX directory).
All .VMU files are plain text files and can be edited in Notepad.
The following main .VMU files should be checked and edited:
ANNCTR2.VMU
FAXBACK2.VMU
MSGCTR2.VMU
STDCTR2.VMU
The .VMU file for your custom TalkWorks profile must be edited as well
This file is called <profile name>.VMU. For example, if you have a
profile called My Profile, the associated .VMU file is called My
Profile.VMU.
Once this is done TalkWorks will not hang up when a handsetup signal
occurs, whether it is generated by the modem or generated by someone
picking up an external handset. A possible permanent solution is to
try another modem or see if there is an upgraded firmware for your
current modem.

This only started after we moved house, that is, it was working properly
before we moved.
The only difference I can think os is that we are using a different phone
line in a different area.
