Greetings:
We were told WinFax 8.0 or 9.0 not only have distinctive ringing but
also have differential capability. Specifically, we want Winfax to listen
for faxes & phone calls on the same line without using distinctive ringing.
Thus, WF could determine when to use the voice mail option or fax option and
store each item seperately.

Our question is, do we have this correct? What should we watch out for
if we want to use this option? Third, can we avoid purchasing a modem with
voice mail options and simply use WF 8.0 or 9.0 & our sound card? Feel free
to respond via e-mail also (hwa...@occg.com). Thanks for your help.

Yes, it is correct. If you have Talkworks installed, you may
distinguish between voice calls and fax calles.
You MUST have a voice chipset that is supported by Talkworks.

No, it also requires a modem with voice capabilities.
