What type of voice chipset is it?
Here's our modem support list:
WinFax 8.0
ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/products/winfax_pro/ver8/updates/wfx8list.exe
This link will download the WinFax PRO 8.0 Modem List file
(WFX8LIST.EXE) to your computer. After you have downloaded the file,
double click it to create an HTML which you can view in your web
browser.
TalkWorks 8.0
http://service.symantec.com/twk8list.html
The lists are different for both Winfax and Talkworks.
A modem that works with Talkworks will work with Winfax, but one that
is supported by Winfax may not be supported by Talkworks.

Hi,
Tell me the name of the modem, I might be able to figure out the
chipset, if it is a popular modem. If not, do you know how to sure
terminal commands in Hyperterminal?
Dear Ann,
I am not sure I know what you mean when you use the phrase, "how
to sure terminal commands in Hyperterminal", I guess I don't.
I look through all the modem stuff and it is a GVC T3 Series 56K
Internal data/fax/voice modem X2 New
The "Spec" page gives lots of information but no where does it
mention the chipset maker.
Suggestions?
Ron

Ron:
Sounds like it isn't resettting.
Go to Winfax, Setup, Modem and add, if not there ATZ to the reset
string section.
