What version of pcANYWHERE 5.0 is on the host? You can find this out
by looking at the times of most files in its directory. The time stamp
would be 5:00, 5:01, etc., indicating the version number. If you do
not have 5:04, then I recommend applying the latest update to
pcANYWHERE 5.0 for it from here:
pcANYWHERE 5.0 Files and Updates

What network client is the host using, Novell's? If so, I recommend
changing some settings in its NET.CFG file to enable better
connections over IPX:
File Handles = 60
SPX Connections = 60
These should be able to be placed at the top of the file.
Similarly, pcANYWHERE32 needs changes to Windows 95's IPX settings
too. I recommend changing the following network settings and then
trying the connection again:
1. From Windows 95, right click on the Network Neighborhood icon.
2. Click on Properties.
3. Verify that IPX/SPX-compatible Protocol -> <network card> is on the
list under the Configuration tab. If it is not, follow these extra
steps:
3a. Click on the Add button.
3b. Click on the Protocol option from the list.
3c. Click on the Add button.
3d. Click on Microsoft from the Manufacturers column on the left.
3e. Click on IPX/SPX-compatible Protocol from the Network Protocols
column on the right.
3f. Click on the OK button. Now the IPX/SPX protocol should be loaded
and bound to your network card.
4. Click on the IPX/SPX-compatible Protocol -> <network card>
selection from the list.
5. Click on the Properties button.
6. Click on the Advanced tab.
7. Click on the Frame Type selection, and set its value to match your
network. This value must be the same on both machines. The value of
Auto is used by default. If this does not work, try Ethernet 802.3.
8. Click on the Maximum Connections selection and set its value to 60.
9. Click on the Maximum Sockets selection and set its value to 60.
10. Click on the OK button.
11. Click on the next OK button. Your computer will most likely prompt
you to reboot. If so, go ahead and do this now. After it is finished,
then this computer should be able to connect over IPX/SPX with
pcANYWHERE32.
Please let us know if these recommendations do not resolve the issue.
