I have a user who boots up pcANYWHERE when starting up Windows 95 OSR1. The
problem is that when Outlook 98 starts up, it looks like OL98 (via MS FAX) is
taking control of the USR 56k X2 Sportster modem on COM1. pcANYWHERE drops out
of the host mode and nobody can call in. The PC then 'locks' up when Outlook is
used (as if both programs are trying to use the same serial port). The previous
tech claims to un-installed an older version before installing PCA32 8.0. The PC
is attached to our server which is running NT4.0 SP4. The PC is a Compaq 4000
266PII w/32MB RAM & 5.7 GB HD. Other than getting another serial/parallel card &
modem, is there a way to disable OL98 from using the modem? The user needs OL98
for his email and PCA for remote users calling in for data.
TIA,
Roger
