I am not familiar with using Task Scheduler. However, you can shut the
host down from waiting for a connection by issuing the STOPHOST
command. For example:
C:\PROGRAM FILES\PCANYWHERE\STOPHOST.EXE
This should stop the host from waiting for an incoming connection.
Please let us know if we can assist you with any other questions or
issues in the future.
I did not post the question, but was browsing for this exact
information. I don't know about Rob's situation, but I need the host
to stop at 8:00 am on weekdays, as PCA 8 is connecting to one of our
rollover lines at the office and I do not want it picking up voice
calls during working hours.
Task Scheduler comes with Internet Explorer 4+, and works great for
starting programs at certain times. I had set it up for starting the
host at 5:30 pm on weekdays, using "C\Program
Files\pcANYWHERE\AWHOST.exe" "C\Program
Files\pcANYWHERE\DATA\modem.bhf" as the command line in Task
Scheduler (information I gleaned from the Host Newsgroup). But, I
needed to stop the host on weekday mornings, whether I was at my desk
or not.
Using the command line you furnished Rob, C:\PROGRAM
FILES\PCANYWHERE\STOPHOST.EXE, works perfectly for stoping the host
at the scheduled time. I am so tickled to get this info, I could
just spit!<g> Now PCA 8 host starts automatically every weekday
afternoon, and stops every weekday morning, making it available to me
to connect from home evenings and weekends without interferring with
phone calls durring working hours.
