Yes, this would be possible. However, pcANYWHERE32 cannot provide
real-time updating of the session screen (this is not possible even
over a local area network, and especially over a phone line). If you
were rendering a still image, this would be okay, but if you needed to
view animation, I would not recommend doing this remotely.

Also, pcANYWHERE32 only displays the host's screen with up to 256
colors. Any higher color palette is reduced to 256. This could be
somewhat restrictive to you if you needed to view the rendering,
whether still or animated, at a higher color palette.

I recommend downloading our free trial version of pcANYWHERE32 version
8.0 at:

Symantec Trialware
http://www.symantec.com/trialware.new/index.html

This version is the same as the retail version, except it only allows
you to use it for thirty days after its installation.

Please let us know if we can assist you with any other questions or
issues in the future.

What error message do you see when you try to connect over the
Internet?

pcANYWHERE32 requires a Dial-Up Networking (DUN) connection to be
present to your local Internet provider before it can connect over the
Internet using TCP/IP. If you have not configured DUN, please do so
first, and then try pcANYWHERE32 again.

For more information on configuring pcANYWHERE32 to connect over the
Internet, I recommend the following documents that are available on
our Knowledge Base:

Using pcANYWHERE32 over an Internet Connection

Please let us know if these recommendations do not resolve the issue.

Hello Bo,

A phone line cannot be used as a direct connection because it has no
current or signal. If you need to make a direct connection, I
recommend using either a network connection, our parallel cable we
ship with pcANYWHERE32, or a serial null modem cable.

For more information on configuring and troubleshooting a direct cable
connection, I recommend the following document that is available on
our Knowledge Base at:

pcANYWHERE32 - Direct Cable Connections

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thanks.
