To better assist you with this issue, I will need the following
information please:
Calling a BBS requires using Call Online Service, however, calling a
host requires Remote Control. These features are fundamentally
different, can cannot be used together. Please check that the remote
is using the MODEM icon found under Remote Control to call the host
with.
What does the remote see when it tries to connect to the host?
What types of modems are the remote and host using? Are they internal
or external? What COM ports and IRQs are they using?
Can your remote call a different host successfully? Can a different
remote call your host successfully? If you are not sure, you can call
into Symantec's test host at (541) 334-4034. The logon name and
password are both TEST. Then hit CTRL+ALT+D (not CTRL+ALT+DEL) to
logon to Windows NT after you see its logon window. If this number is
busy or you cannot connect to it, try our secondary host at (541)
334-7314.
