Thank you for taking the time to answer a question from another

pcANYWHERE32 actually disables the host's background picture. This
advice would be excellent for any pcANYWHERE 2.0 host user, since that
version does not do this. Disabling the Windows wallpaper in that case
greatly aides in the screen refresh time.
Please let us know if we can assist you with any questions or issues
that you may have in the future.

What types of modems are the remote and host using? Are they internal
or external? What COM ports and IRQs are they using?
This type of issue can be caused if pcANYWHERE32 cannot completely
control the host's video card, or if it is using obsolete video
drivers.
I recommend changing the way pcANYWHERE32 uses the host's video card
to help resolve this issue. The following steps will walk you through
doing this:
1. From the main window of the pcANYWHERE32 host, click on the File
menu.
2. Click on Application Options.
3. Click on the Host Operation tab.
4. Set the Video mode selection to Accelerator disabled. If this
setting does not work, then try the Compatibility selection instead.
5. Click on the OK button.
If this fails, can the remote connect to a different host okay? If you
are not sure if your remote can call another host successfully, have
the remote try calling the Symantec test host at (541) 334-4034. The
logon name and password are both TEST. Then hit CTRL+ALT+D (not
CTRL+ALT+DEL) to logon to the Windows NT host. Its logon name and
password are also TEST.
If you cannot connect to this host (it may be busy or otherwise), try
our other test host at (541) 334-7314.
If you encounter the same issue, then most likely this is an issue on
your remote, not on the other computer.

Huh, didn't know that, that's kinda neat.

Yes, pcANYWHERE32 will disable the host's background picture
temporarily while in a session with the remote. This is different than
version 2.0, which does not do this, and as a result, could cause a
slow screen refresh while drawing the background.
I believe the reason this was added was for just that: to speed up the
session. Note that this feature can be disabled, so that the remote
user does see the host's background picture. Also note if this is
disabled, the remote may experience slower screen refreshes while the
background picture is drawn every time a window is resized on the
screen.
Please let us know if we can assist you. Thanks.
