I have connected a new Hewlett Packard 690c printer on my host
machine and set the prot to the remote one as specified in the
instructions. When the remote PC prints the following error occurs -
'The printer you are printing to can not be controlled remotely, your
data has been reset'.

is it becoause the printer is not compatible with pcAnywhere, if so
what colour printers will work.

Hello Carl,

Which version of pcANYWHERE32 are you using? I apologize that only
pcANYWHERE32 8.0 is currently supported by StandardCare Technical
Support.

The message you are receiving is true: the newer HP printer drivers,
such as the ones used for the HP600 or HP800 DeskJets, are not
compatible with remote printing. To resolve this, I recommend
installing and using the older compatibility drivers for the HP, such
as the HP550C driver which can be found on the Windows 95 CD-ROM. Use
this driver on both the remote and host exclusively for remote
printing.

Printing to the remote station is intermitent. All tips and set up
procedures have been double checked. It will work for a while then
quit.

Hello Ed,

Are you working with Carl, or is this a separate issue?

If this is a separate issue, I'll need to know the following from you
please:

What types of printer is the remote using?

What application are you printing from? Does this issue occur from a
different application?

What type of connection are you making, a modem or network connection?
