Hi Debbie,

Creating the folder in DOS won't bring up the option to Empty Norton
Protected files, or activate it if the option is there (but just
grayed out). In this case, I would recommend an uninstall of NU and a
reinstall of NU as follows...

1. Uninstall Norton Utilities through Add/Remove Programs in the
Control Panel.

2. Make sure that the Norton Utilities folder is no longer in the
Program Files folder. If it's still there, delete it.

3. Close all programs down before installing as follows:
Press CTRL-ALT-DEL on the keyboard and close down any programs that
show up on the Close Program box that appears. You can do this by
clicking on a program on that list, then clicking on the End Task
button. You have to press CTRL-ALT-DEL again and repeat the process
until only EXPLORER is left on that list. Then click on the Cancel
button.

4. Install Norton Utilities. Run Liveupdate.

Note: If after uninstalling NU and reinstalling NU, the program
reports "No Update Necessary" when you run LiveUpdate, please download
and run NU3LIVE.REG at the following address...
