How can I turn OFF Norton Protection Center?

I installed Systemworks 2006 and one of the new "features" is Norton
Protection Center, which runs at windows startup and runs for a long
time....damn near 5 minutes and my machine is basically unusable while it's
running it's check.

How do I turn this thing off? I couldn't find anything in the docs or on
the Symantec web site. I don't want this thing running checks on system
boot.
If I can't turn it off, how can I uninstall it without uninstalling Norton
utils or Norton antivirus.
