I am running Win95 OSR2 on 100mhz Pentium, 32 meg ram, 9 gig
micropolis wide SCSI hd with adaptec 2940w on motherboard.
Have run this setup for 4 years. Shut down the system over the
weekend when expecting hurricaine (Tampa, FL). System will not boot
now.
Automatically runs scandisk and stops with a message "Physical
problem in FAT preventing scandisk from fixing the drive. I boot
from a floppy
and run NDD. It seems to be fixing the problem but stops with an
"out of memory" error just as it begins to analyze the directory
structure.
Please help! I cannot seem to get NDD to complete. I think it might
fix the problem but it keeps stopping with the out of memory error.
I cannot close any programs
to save memory as himem.sys is the only thing I'm loading.
Thanks in advance.
Phill.

See if you can set up an AUTOEXEC.BAT file on the floppy that you are
running NDD from. In the AUTOEXEC.BAT, place the line:
DOS16M=2
and see if that will get around the memory problem. Please know that
I'm pullin' for you!
