Hello to all.
I have been experiencing an interesting problem lately that causes
the scheduler to shut down after 22 seconds or thereabouts after I
connect to the internet.I know for a fact that my connection is up
and running perfectly well as I am currently able to access THIS site
and type THIS message, and all other sites for that matter!
This is the 1st problem I have ever had with Nortons and would love
to be able to call it the last! The scheduler has never failed in the
past, today being the 1st....there is also no history of failures
relating to my internet connection..I access the updates from the
internet itself, and do not choose the modem or US calling option. The
updates are weekly at midnight and havent failed before.
Looking forwards to your possible solutions, and therefore my constant
Norton usage :)
Kind regards,
Glen Gold.
Please continue to post your messages in the public discussion groups since
Symantec does not provide support via private e-mail.
YES,It has worked before and continues to work now.
AFTERTHOUGHT...
Is it possible that the LiveUpdate has all the latest updates, and
therefore doesnt need to stay online to retrieve the information? If
so,wouldnt the program itself respond with an ie: "You have the
latest updates"?
I thank-you again for your time.
Glen.
I am using version 4.4
Well, what are the OTHER options then??
ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/liveupdate/updates/lusetup.exe
The only other options I know of are to manually launch LiveUpdate or download
and execute the Intelligent Updater file to update the definitions.
Version 4.4 > Do you have ANY idea what the problem is...can you
recommend something...I'm sure you are now fully aware of the problem
that I'm experiencing now.
Afterthought: How often are the scans released for update on the
site? Does it vary? Is there a standard of days, etc??
Glen
Download and execute lusetup.exe from the following link to see if it has a
positive effect in this situation.

The only other options I know of are to manually launch LiveUpdate or download

The definitions are released on a weekly basis, typically by Friday morning.
