Is there a way to use the Windows98 Task Scheduler to get
NAV to run automatically? I couldn't find anything in the
help files on this subject... I have a task scheduled (at
1am), but it starts NAV and waits for me to manually hit the
Scan Now key... is there a config or command line option to
tell it to start scanning without my intervention?
I've seen mention of the Norton Scheduler here & there...
as far as I know my new PC didn't come with that; I just
have NAV 4.10. Do I *have* to have that to do what I want
to do? Is there a way around this in a newer version of
NAV?
Thanks...
1. Click the Add Schedule Task button.
2. Click Next to let wizard run.
3. Once the Wizard displays a list of programs, click the browse button.
4. Navigate to your Norton AntiVirus Folder.
5. Locate and select the NAVW32 program file.
6. Select a Name you wish displayed in the scheduler (NAV Virus Scan).
7. Select the frequency that you want it to run. and select Next.
8. Select the time and date you want it to run.
9. Click OK to save.
10. Select the task, Right Click and select properties.
11. On the Run line, after the quotes ("), add the command line switch /L
12. Click OK to save.
Here are some of the other NAV command line switches that can be used with
the scheduler.

scan a combination

/A Scan All drives or all Local drives. A: and B: are skipped. Network
drives are
scanned if the Allow Network Scanning options is selected in the Scanner
Advanced Settings dialog box.
/L Scan All drives or all Local drives. A: and B: are skipped.
/S[+|-] All subfolders of any folders specified in the pathname
are also scanned.
/M[+|-] Enables or disables scanning of memory.
/MEM Only scan memory.
/B[+|-] Enables or disables scanning of boot records.
/BOOT Scan the boot sectors ONLY of all specified drives.

The task was terminated. This action was initiated either by an
administrator or the service (for example, the computer is now non
idle)
I can't tell if it is only scanning to root of the C drive and
stopping or what. The flash of the window is too fast.
my version says 4.04??? I just found the w954up98.exe file on the
site and I will try that to see if it helps.
