I bought norton internet security 2006 with antivirus and firewall, and
its really beginning to annoy me how often I get a program alert popup
telling me a remote system is attempting to access the internet. It
happens about once every 10 or so minutes, and no matter how many times
I choose "Allow Always (recommended)" they still appear.

Is there any way to disable this alert - instructing norton to always
perform the recommended action?
