unable to upgrade

If you bought it 2-3 years ago, it must be version 1. I would suggest
upgrading to version 4 or 5 (which is the latest).

Ok - but are there any upgrades i can d/l on the website? It claims
to be made for win95. Or will i just have to go buy a new copy?

http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/files/nav/norton_antivirus_version_1x_for_w
indows_95.html and download the file NAV950B.EXE. You should also read the
file NAV950B.TXT that is on that page. Your best option would be to upgrade
to a newer version of NAV. You can leave a message to Customer Service in
the news://service.symantec.com/symantec.customerservice.general newsgroup,
call them at (800) 441-7234, or e-mail them at cust...@symantec.com, and
they will be happy to provide details on upgrading and pricing
