I seem to recall this error has in the past been caused by a product called
ZipMagic by Mijenix Software (it makes zipped files appear as normal folders).
ZipMagic sees the Intelligent Updater improperly and this causes the problem.
If you have this product, then disable it and that should enable the
Intelligent Updater to run correctly.

You're recollection was quite right.
I *had* recently installed ZipMagic (~~gloom~~). After doing as you
suggested, and then running the update file, my program updated
successfully.

You are welcome for sure. I trust you understand you don't have to leave Zip
Magic disabled, just do so on those occassions you download and run the
Intelligent Updater.
