I've read with interest your News Release touting the how the
integration of Outlook with ACT! "will significantly increase the
productivity.." I'm await the occurance of this productivity
increase, perhaps you can help me get there.
I am trying - and have been trying for about a week now - to export
(or import, whichever way works) my ACT contacts to Outlook 98. I'm
on ACT! 4.0.2 and Outlook 98 8.5.5104.6 releases. [I noted that
Outlook 98 says "Internet Mail Only" if that means anything to you.]
Anyway, there seens to be multiple ways to "almost" make this happen
but it never does. Outlook 98 will let me import files ".. like ACT"
it says but ACT 4.0 is not listed. Or, I can import *.vcf files
(which both you and MS tout in above mentioned the News Release) but
again, a) I can't 'save as' an ACT! db as anything other than a *.dbf
file. I've also tried this handy, dandy concept of emailing (to
myself) contact records as attachments (in vCard format)- this also
does not work. Outlook 98 does not let my open the attachment OR
import the attachment - although it does FIND it as a *.vcf file. I
keep getting the error message "Operation failed, an object could not
be found." [I get same message whether I try to open or import this
attachment.]
So, what am I doing wrong? It sure as heck has got to be simplier
than this.
Thanks, Steve
PS - now that I have received a lot of responses to previous
problems, how do I delete them after reading? Thks.
