I am getting a lot of these messages. "Act..This program has
performed an illegal operation and will be shut down." and details
are: ACT caused an invalid page fault in module :unknown> at
0000:00000009. ......
Then I close ACT and get same error message with details:
ACT caused an invalid page fault in module MFC40.dll at
0157:5f8013b6...This usually happens when I am working with the
Winfax phonebooks.
I have ACT 4.0.2 build 358 and Winfax 8.3. I usually working with MS
Office Shortcut bar, Winfax, Excel version 7 in memory. My computer
is a pentium 233 w/ 64 megs ram.
When this happens, I look in the Windows/Temp directory for temp
files and all I usually have is a couple of files of the ~df5221
variety with 0kb.
Any suggestions?

Hello Bill,
It sounds like the error is somewhat inconsistent, that is it does not
happen everytime you try a specific process.
Due to the somewhat sporadic nature of the problem I suggest you
optimize your system for ACT! This document includes optimization
guidelines.

Since you also see MFC40.dll errors make sure you have the compatible
VREDIR.VXD file on your machine as explained in this document.
