Hello Dan,
The following steps should help you get the needed report sent to just
one person.
<<<Note: the Person you need to send the fax to must be in your dB as
a Contact with a valid Fax Number.>>>
1) Do the needed lookup to get the contacts together that you want
the report on.
2) Select Report and pick the Report of Choice.
3) Select Current Contact Lookup.
4) Select File - Editable Text.
5) Select OK. The report is compiled.
6) Give it a name. select to save it.
7) You get a message asking if you want to open it in the default
word processor. Select Ok to do so.
8) After it is opened and you have checked it out, select File
/Send/Fax , Or if Word, File/ Send Fax using ACT!.
9) Select from the List that shows next, the One person you want to
send this report to.
10) Select Add.
11) Add a Title at the top of the screen.
12) Select Continue and it will go into the Fax program with only the
One contact you selected in step 9 above.
13) Select to Send.

Thank You for using ACT!.
Are you saying that EACH time I need to fax a contact report to my
factory that I would need to go thru this process OR will this
process allow me to select this as a report and THEN send it to the
appropriate person w/o going thru the "normal" process?
I am confused.
dan
Am i reading your response correctly that this applies to a single
contact? or is this a file that will take each new contact report
and send it to the one fax number requested without going thru all of
the motions.
Are you saying that I can load a specific form (report) that will
show today's info and will be faxed to a specific individual using
this method?
Sorry, still a bit confused.

Hello Dan,
To fax a report, first run the report. In the Run Report dialog box
select send output to, Fax.
In the Send Fax dialog box, select the contact you want to send the
report to.
Fill out the other options in the Send Fax dialog box as you want to.
Faxing reports is covered in the ACT! 4.0 manual on page 278.
Thank you for using ACT!

This in not a one time event, but a daily (and sometimes hourly)
event -- so my quest is to eliminate steps (which is really what a
PIM is designed to do).
Do you have any suggestions?

Hello Dan,
I'm sorry I did not fully understand what you wanted ACT! to do.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to imbed a macro in an ACT! report.
Let us know if we can be of further assistance.

OK so I can't do a macro (hell, you'd have to tell me how to do it
anyway), is there ANYTHING that I can do to make this multi level
task easier knowing that I may do it 12 times a day?

Hello Dan,
Once you click on fax in the run report dialog box make the necessary
selections in the send fax dialog box. ACT! does not provide for the
Send Fax dialog box to be filled in automatically.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help for you today.
