When I'm importing contacts from another database on my computer on a
weekly basis, how can I prevent duplicating contacts? And how can I
make sure than I am mapping correctly from the other database to Act?

Hi Grace,

Are you importing another ACT! 3.0 database or a dbase file? Another
ACT! 3.0 database you only need to make sure the 'Match duplicates
fields' in the two databases are set to the same fields.

Check the source you are exporting the contacts from, most current
software packages offer the option of exporting field names. In ACT!
3.0 when you export contacts to a file using the Export Wizard you
click on the Options button on screen 2 and check 'Export field names'
when using Text-delimited.

Thank you for using ACT!
