I am using v3.0.8. I created a new database with a new layout. I then
imported the old database into the new database mapping fields in the
old database to the new database.

The standard fields were not changed. I did map, for example, "User
1" in the old database to "Product Interest" in the new database as
well as many other user fields.

The problem that I experienced is that the phone field from the old
database did NOT come over! I did not change the name of the phone
field. In the map window the phone field maps to the phone field! All
other fields came over!

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan,

As long as the Contact Map screen was showing the Phone field on the
left mapped to the Phone field on the right your data should have come
in.

Possible reasons why it did not are:

1. Phone field was deleted at some point and readded. This should not
cause the data to not import. The check would be to make sure the
phone field is indeed mapped.
2. Database index files contained corrupted pointers or header
information. Deleting the index files then reopening the databse would
repair any problems with indexes.
3. Phone field was defined as a protected field. Check the phone
fields in both database and set entry rule to none.

Let us know if we can be of further help.
