I have a co-worker who just purchased Act! and would like to import
data he backed up 2 years ago using the backup feature in an old
version of Act!. Now I have 3 disks ... each has one file named
data.001, data.002 and data.003. How can I get this data into the
current version of Act!

I appreciate your assistance.

Hi Keith,

As a guess from the file names I would find out if this was data on a
Win3.1 system and backed up using the MS backup utility. If it is the
data has to be restored on a Win3.1 machine then zipped up or copied
to a zip drive to transfer to the Win98 system. Microsofts' backup
routines were not compatible between Win 3.1 and Win95 and thus not
compatible with Win98.

Once the data is uncompressed it is convert able to ACT! 3.0 by
opening or importing.

Let us know if we can be of further help.
