Hello Tim,
One thing to make sure if is that you have the latest version of the
software. There were some fixes to the labels in later builds. We
are currently up to version 3.0.8. To check which version you are
using you would need to go to the HELP menu and choose ABOUT ACT! If
the version number listed is before the 3.0.8 version then you should
run Live Update via the HELP menu.
There is a knowledge base article that covers this in detail in the
ACT! Knowledge Base. You can use the link that I have placed below in

Hello Tim,
You can create a new Label by going to FILE, NEW, LABEL TEMPLATE.
Then from there you can change the settings. There is a knowledge
base article that covers this in detail in the ACT! Knowledge Base.

We do not actually support Custom Labels on-line. Contacting an ACT
certified consultant is a possible solution. For a listing of the
ACC's available, please follow this link:

There is bound to be one near you, and they would be pleased to assist
you.
