I've got multiple users set up for a database. When I first start
Act 3.0, it gives me a log on screen. But, once logged on, how do I
log off and then log on another user? Although individual users have
their own computers I do have a couple that have several users using
off and on throughout the day. Each time a new user goes to that
computer he needs to log on with his own user name. I can't find
anywhere on the menus to initiate this. I hope I'm not going to have
to exit the program and then reinitiate it completely.
Associated with this problem, how can one instantly tell who is
logged on to Act by looking at it? It would be great if the user
name was displayed somewhere on the screens....
Does 4.0 fix any of the above?
Hello Mark,
In order to log a different User into the software you will have to go
to FILE, CLOSE, and then go back to FILE, OPEN and choose that
database. From there you will get the logon prompt. Then the other
User can log into the database etc. That is currently the only way to
switch User Names that are logged in.
As far as telling what User is logged in, you can go to HELP, ABOUT
ACT!, and that will give you the name of the User that is logged in as
well as their access type.
You may want to make a feature request for the items above. We are
always looking for new ways to make Act a better product to use.
Suggestions are a valuable way to ensure that you get the most out of
your software.
To send feedback directly to management about enhancing ACT! or any
other Symantec product, we now have a web page that you can
specifically do this at:
http://www.symantec.com/feedback/index.html
Input from this web page goes directly into a database that management
has direct access to read, and which they also track and gather
statistics on. So anyone wanting to voice their opinions, should take
advantage of this new way to register your desires for product
enhancements directly with management.
Let us know if you have any more questions.
