Due to task switching back to DOS during a fax receive, the end of
the receive log got corrupted. The result is that when loading
WinfaxPro 4, the receive log loads (the % bar
moves all the way up to 100%)...ALMOST, and then it hangs...like the
end-of-file is missing. This means the that
the old file must be renamed to get the program running again.

If one looks at the file, a lot about the structure is obvious, and
intact...what is not obvious is how it is supposed to look if it's
OK. I assume that someone there knows this, since you wrote it!

Also, since all the actual fax content files are intact, is there a
way to re-create a receive or transmit log by scanning the directory
with the files?

Please don't tell me that none of this can be done...I need this
information.

Thanks very much.

Hello Eric,

The WinFax PRO 4.0 send / receive log structure is outlined in the WinFax
PRO 4.0 SDK. This is a DLL which allows you to access the logs directly.

There is no way to scan a directory to re-create a log.

For more details on this, you can contact winfaxs...@symantec.com
