I recently purchased an AOPEN FM56EX 56k flex fax modem. Since
installing the modem, removing an mwave internal fax, modem, sound
card, I have been unable to send or receive faxes. Since you are
receiving this message, the modem function connecting to the internet
[ I use AOL ], is functioning properly.

After lengthly telephone conversations with you, it was suggested
that with this new modem I needed to upgrade my operating system. I
have just completed upgrading to windows98. I made the autoexec.bat,
system.ini change suggestions, including removing the automatic
starting of my McAfee VirusScan software. I have also reinstalled my
version of WinFaxPro4.0.

I still cannot send or receive faxes from my computer. Please tell me
what I can do short of scrapping WinFaxPro and going to some other
fax/modem software.

Thanks for your help.

Joel,

Please see the following Knowledge Base document:

Even though the document is for Windows 95 it should be the same for
Windows 98.

Sincerely,
