I have been (as well as 5 of my collegues) supplied by my employer
(Royal Bank of Canada) with the French version of Act 3.
Modifying field names following standard procedures changes the
particulars of the field but the field name is not modified.
I have dowloaded the trial version to my personnal computer and have
been unable to solve this problem even after obtaining downloads.

Hello Gerald,

I am not aware of any issues changing field labels with ACT! 3.0
(French) however I do not have that version available to me.

To change a field label, select Edit, Define Fields.
Highlight the field you want to change.
Type the new name in the Field Name box.
Make the other changes to the field you want to make.
Once you have changed all the fields click OK and let ACT! re-build
the database.

Let us know how your steps differ from mine. What results do you get
when you try to change the field label?
