My technicians have set up ACT! so that if I create a new e-mail
message from View|Email, the addresses behind the To... button are
not those from ACT! but from MS Exchange.

Where do I make the changes necessary in order to see the ACT! email
addresses? My technicians are not acquainted with ACT! and so are not
helpful.

This will also resolve the next problem, in that I want to send an
email to a group I've defined. For me to do this, I believe all I
need is to enter the group name in the bcc: line. Is that correct?

TIA.

Hello Addison,

In the Create email screen, you will have a section in the left upper
corner labeled "ADDRESS". Select it.
In the next screen, mid way down on the left you will see the "Address
book " box. Select the down arrow to the right of it and select ACT!
Contacts.

You will select the group name or the contacts in the group or the
lookup. You will do this in the Address book screen.
Note: All contacts int eh Group or lookup must have valid email
addresses in the default email address field of there contact screen.
If they do not, the email mail merge will fail.

Paul: thanks for the reply. I don't have the "Address book box" you
speak of. (I am running ACT! for Windows 3.0.6. Are your suggestions
for that version?)

After clicking on Address... when creating new email, I have a drop
down box in the upper right corner which starts with "Global Address
List" then ""Outlook Address Book," "Personal Address Book," then
"Novell GroupWise Address Book." The list of names which appear are
those belonging to each of these groups. I do not have one that says
"ACT! contacts."

My gut feeling says that this has to do with Outlook
properties|Services. I do not have anything that relates to ACT! in
this list, but these other name groups do appear there.

Does this bring to mind any suggestions?

Hello Addison,

ACT! 3.0 supports MS Mail, not Outlook.

Using MS Mail as the primary email address I click on the address
button and cancel the MS Mail log on screens.

The Address dialog box appears as pictured on page 193 of the manual.

Let us know if we can be of further assistance.
