Hi-
I am using ACT! 3.0 for Windows 3.1. I have templates which have
arial 12 point font size in them and they work when I write a single
letter or FAX cover. However when I use the mail merge function with
the same letter/fax cover, the fields for ACT! data elements (fields)
revert to Times New Roman 10 points. The rest of the letter/fax
cover stays in the Arial 12 pont size. This creates quite a problem
when trying to send a sizeable mail merge. I am using the Word 6.0
for Windows 3.1 as the word processer.

I have reinstalled the software and it still happens. I don't send
many mail merge letters, so I don't know how long this has been
happening. I believe it was a problem when I first got my software
for all items and then it disappeared after I re-installed the
software and updated the memory in my computer.

Thanks -

Dan Lounsberry

Hello Daniel,

Let's make sure the template is saved with the correct font size.

Select Write, Edit document template.
Use the cursor to highlight the text that needs to be 12 point.
Select Format, Font.
Select the Font and Font Size.
Save the template.

Now use the template for a small mail merge. If the font still changes
take a look at this document. I realize it is written for a different
version of Word but it addresses a similar problem.
