Custom Templates

I am having difficulty setting up a letter template for printing on a
6 x 8 sheet of paper. What are the exact steps to follow so the
"letterhead" will been centered at the top of the sheet. I believe I
am following the same steps I used to set up a business letterhead
template which prints on
8.5 x 11 sheet of paper, however, the letterhead is not centering,
and the custom page size doesn't seem to stay in memory.

Should the word processor ruler dimensions correspond to the size of
the paper being used? My screen only shows a 6" wide " page guide "
when using 8.5 in. wide paper.
