I am unable to open notes for a single record. I continually receive
the following error: This type of document cannot be opened by ACT!
Notes for other records within the database have not generated the
same error.
Is there some way to see what the database is looking for for this
particular record?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello Chip,
It sounds as if you have some minor notes corruption on this contact.
You should make sure and get the latest version of the 2.0. The most
recent version is 2.0.9. You can get this update via the Internet at
the following address:
ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/products/act/ver2_win3x/updates/
The filenames to download are "ACT209.EXE" and "ACT209.TXT". The .TXT
file is the information file that tells how to use the update etc.
After doing that I would recommend getting the document title
"Repairing Minor Damage in Notes". You can get this by going to the
on-line Knowledge Base via the link below my name. Then use the
number "199710211529" as the search criteria. Then from there you can
follow those steps.
Let us know how that goes.
